When Jesus was asked what the most important commandment is, He answered without hesitation “You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.' And, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.”
At Washington this means Roots and Wings. The Roots speak of our going deeper in our relationship with God & sinking deeper into the love of God through a personal relationship with Jesus. The Wings speak of our serving others as an overflow of what God pours into our roots. As we take in the grace of God there should be a natural overflow onto others. This overflow is where we serve God and by so doing fulfill the second commandment "to love our neighbor as ourselves.”
We build everything we do around these two commandments.
God loves you and has a purpose for your life.
God continues to speak to His people through His Word.
This world is in need of salvation through Jesus, God’s Beloved Son.
Every believer is called and equipped to help advance the Kingdom of God.
God has chosen the church to be the vessel through which the Kingdom of God is advanced.
